I was checking my Google Analytics account and I was curious to see which browsers the people were using to view this blog. I was amazed. I could not believe so many people were using Internet Explorer instead of FireFox. And I remembered, we all started browsing with IE (except for some who were using Netscape). The browser is preinstalled on every computer running Microsoft. So I decided to write an article to convince them to use FireFox.

There is a chance that you have already heard about FireFox, the browser made by the company Mozilla. It is a browser made to compete with Internet Explorer (IE). At first I had many doubts about changing browsers because, I understood until then, that it was the most complete browser in existence. Especially, since I didn’t have to download it.

My web designer friends begged me to change, so I decided to give FireFox a try. The change was immense. The pages looked different using the mozilla browser. I started to read about the reason of this. It’s because FireFox is a browser that meets the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. This organization seeks to standardize the HTML and CSS codes to have a uniform experience navigating the web. IE is still the only browser that does not want to follow the recommendations of the W3C. This makes it difficult for designers because they have to code for other browsers and add unique coding for IE.

In addition to complying with the recommendations of the W3C, FireFox also has a vast library of Add-ons that enhance your browser with a myriad of functions. I will discuss this in my next article FireFox: Recommended Tools for Web Designers.

I will make a challenge. Download FireFox, install and use it for two days, if you are not convinced, it can be easily uninstalled from your. You can open the IE browser and Firefox simultaneously for comparison. Use this blog as their first experiment and see the differences immediately.

After your experiment, drop us a line a tell us what was your experience with FireFox and Internet Explorer.
