As designers, we do more than just create, develop, improve or replace elements on a medium. We openly speak with our customers and help them make decisions so they can enjoy an elegant, functional and professional design.

This is why Graphic-iti has decided to make its 1st Major Contest:
PhotoShop is not Graphic Design

What is the contest about?
We want you to tell us how you helped your client and what benefits did this decision offer. What did you do to convince the client to make a decision that would positively affect their design.

What are the rules?
The rules are simple:
• Tell us your stories about how to solve or help your customers make a healthy decision for the benefit of the design.
• Be original, do not copy other anecdotes.
• Be honest.
• Respect the stories of others.
• Last day for entries is November 14, 2009

Why do it?
We want you to share your experiences with us. This way we can help each other grow as professionals in the midst of this great community of artists.

What’s the reward?
The 3 best stories will receive:
• Your choice between a Photoshop is not Graphic Design shirt (Male or female) or a Graphic-iti Travel Mug.
• An article presenting the biography of the winners
• A link to the websites of the winners

    Whoops, that kinda backfired. No replies except for a spammer. I know the feeling. I get loads of hits on some of my recent articles, but hardly anyone comments. It’s weird, but you get used to it. Once I have more interesting content, I expect things to change.

    ON topic though, I’d say the pencil is mightier than the photoshop when it comes to design. I feel the pain of people associating photoshop and/or computer skills with graphic design or design in general. It’s especially sad when I see young designers in the making dredging through Photoshop tutorial after tutorial without any real sense of purpose. When I get to train students one day, the first thing they get is a pencil and paper. Design is in the mind, not the machine.
